The Harvard Business Review just released a study analyzing feedback from more than 5,000 managers on what constitutes a high performer. Want to impress your boss? Read on.

There are more than a few indicators that can signal to your boss that not only are you a keeper but that you deserve a promotion. Here is a summary of those signals. How many have you already mastered?

  1. Achieve your goals and deliver results.
  2. Complete a high quality of work. It’s not about just getting it done, but getting it done impeccably well.
  3. Work well with others so you become a trusted partner, not a lone soldier.
  4. Keep up to date on technology and industry expertise.
  5. Align the company’s goals with your goals.
  6. Talk yourself up in… a professional way of course.
