Career Advice

Advice for recent gradsRecent and soon-to-be graduates are only looking for one thing — a job — but a little advice can never hurt. We asked our Facebook fans to chime in and dish on the one piece of advice they’d give to college students who are about to enter the real world. Here’s what you said.
  • “If you don’t want to work hard for a job you don’t like, what impression does that give to those hiring for the jobs you do like?” – Derek Barrow
  • “Be very persistent. Keep calling and show them you want that job more than anything.” – Dan Koger
  • “Grad school.” – David Shaw
  • “Network as much as possible. Do volunteer work. Take more classes to perfect and improve skills. Get out from behind your computer. SMILE, make your bed everyday and be positive. Imagine yourself in your dream role and take steps toward it each day… even if they’re small steps!” – Sharon Pescheret
  • “Hike Europe!” – Kelly Williams
  • “Be positive in everything you do. Never, ever give up! Smile and be happy!” – Holly Helmus
