We Asked, You Answered: What Do You Look For in a New Position?

Career Advice

Now HiringThere’s no doubt about it — employers have a set of qualities they look for in each new hire. But what do employees look for? After all, job seekers shouldn’t take just any job. They should know what they’re looking for in a position. It’s important to understand what makes you feel inspired, respected, and motivated.

What’s interesting is that salary is not often at the top of an employee’s list of needs and wants. Interesting work, great coworkers, and benefits like flexible schedules often outweigh the dollar signs. It seems that our Spectrum Brands Careers Facebook fans  agree. We asked what they look for in a new position and here’s what they said:

“Teamwork!” – Jon Pederson
“Challenge.” – Dwight Johnson
“Positive attitude.” – Laura Quintana
“Management, friendliness of team, challenge, benefits and — of course — salary!” – Alison Hegg
